Family History Research Services and Fees
My interest in family history research began in 1980 during a 7th grade English class assignment that involved writing letters to our relatives. Receiving handwritten letters, original documents, and photographs from my grandmother and great aunts had me hooked. Since then I have continued working on my family's history, and have assisted countless others with theirs in my work as an archivist.
If you have questions about any of the services offered or there is a service not listed that you are seeking, please contact me to discuss your project.

Services and fees
Working on my family's history has provided me with extensive experience working with records from the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Scotland, and Lithuania. I have also spent a significant amount of time working with American Civil War records, including personal letters, diaries, probate records, land records, maps, and transcribing documents.

As an archivist, I frequently assist patrons with their own genealogical research, either by providing access to collections or referring them to other repositories. I am very well versed on where and how records are kept, including those that are available online as well as those that have not been digitized and require on-site research.

I have experience working with very little information as a starting point, in some cases only a name and a photograph, and in one of my favorites - a name, family lore, and restaurant menus that were used to track a person's migration from Indianpolis, Indiana to the American west.

All family history research services regardless of size and scope will be charged at the rate of $135.00/hour for research and writing reports. This does not include any travel expenses. If travel is required, costs will be based on current United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rates for travel reimbursement including, mileage, transportation, meals, and lodging. Additional fees for any incidentals required to complete the project, including but not limited to, parking fees, and copy/duplication fees will apply when warranted.

Prior to conducting any research, I will ask that you provide me with as much information about your family that you have gathered. This will give me a good place to start and lessen the cost for you. I am willing to work on projects in phases, as budgets allow. If there is a project you are interested in and it is not listed, please contact me for a free consultation. I look forward to working with you!
